Avon-by-the-Sea is a small seaside borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, occupying the narrow stretch of the northern Jersey Shore between Bradley Beach and Belmar. With a 2020 population of 1,933, Avon is one of the Shore's smallest boroughs, and it maintains a four-season, close-knit residential feel rather than operating purely as a summer destination. Its location roughly 60 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia, along with rail access on the North Jersey Coast Line at neighboring stations, has made it attractive both to year-round residents and to seasonal homeowners.
